I have decided to post up some of my fathers (B. 13. 7 1901 D. 9. 3. 1970 ) collection of photos that may be of interest to others. My father worked as a rigger on the Sydney Harbour Bridge from December 12th 1928 to April 22nd 1932, and during that time, using a 116 box camera, took some photos. He also collected other items of interest. His full name was Erik Ossian Olofsson, which became anglicised to Ossie Olsson. When the work was completed, he had married, and his reference of employment was finally in his full name, and almost spelt correctly. The first picture shows my father (centre with cap) fitting the jack to the anchor rods during the process of releasing the cables for the purpose of joining the arch. (for which he received a sovereign which I still have, and is pictured below.)
As you can see, my father had the sovereign embelished with an arch, he also had the back shaved and an inscription added as can be seen below.
